I would like to share one positive thing that I believe this pandemic has gifted us.  During the time of quarantine and the current pandemic state of working from home, limited travel and other activities cancelled, it has really forced us all to slow down. Prior to the pandemic we were super scheduled going to work, getting the kids to soccer practice, baseball games, etc. always rushing to get somewhere.  I am hoping you like myself have seized this opportunity to reconnect with your family, yes those people that share your household.  When we were in  'shelter in place' status it forced us all to just be together. As I am out & about in my neighborhood I am seeing more families getting out together whether it is biking, walking, hiking, spending real quality time and it makes me so happy. It almost seems as if we needed this to bring us all back to what is important.

Unfortunately all this free time has also allowed us even more time on our devices than ever, if that was possible.  I am hoping you can find a balance of reduced screen time and more time in person and in the moment of what is happening right now.  Unfortunately we do need devices to connect with friends and family outside of the household which is also very important. We need to be sure to reach out for that social interaction either by phone, Facetime, Zoom or any other app you discovered. Following on social media is just not the same as hearing that persons voice or seeing their face so we can actually see and feel their emotions real time.   So if you are feeling down or you know someone who struggles with depression, anxiety, stress or just alone and needing companionship...PLEASE reach out to them today and say "Hey how are you" it makes us all feel better.

Take time enjoy your surroundings
